Cal Henry’s Song of the Moment - #1

Here’s a song that you wouldn’t think is a nice, peppy, happy-feeling song by the title and subject matter - but it is!

Listen to this and tell me if you don’t feel like dancing, singing along or bobbing your head.

WARNING: this song contains language not suitable for all ages.

The song is called “F**k You” by Cee Lo Green and it’s my favorite song of the year so far!

Lyrical Subjects and Stuff...

Hey guys,

Spence here, just checkin' in! So if you've been in touch with us online recently you've heard about our cool "Tunes for 10,000" game. We're really getting a LOT more likes and we CAN'T WAIT to give away our acoustic record!

Next from me is that I'm writing a bunch of new lyrics and I can write about different things all day, but I would really love to hear some suggestions! I know it's different for everyone, but for me I feel like I can write lines about anything; it's the idea that inspires me. I want to write about something that is close to your heart!!!

So, my plan is if you get back to us with ideas, I'll write something based on that and we may end up using it for WD-HAN lyrics!

Can't wait to hear your ideas!

Rock on,
Spencer

Are you ready to hear WD-Han’s EP? ….. So are we!

How can you help? Well, we’re doing a ton of fundraisers right now, but there’s one where you can make a real difference.

Mary Campbell (the drummer’s ((aka Lea)) mom) has made hundreds of purses in the past, and has started again. (This time, she’s even thrown in some very cute aprons.) She has volunteered to sponsor WD-Han’s EP with all profits from her creations.

Have a birthday coming up for your mom or grandma? Been looking for a great, yet inexpensive, beach bag? Wait, I got it. You got sooo into baking that you’ve ruined ALL your clothes and so now you realize that you have to have an apron…. whatever the case may be, the fact remains that we need your help, and this is a great win-win way to provide it.

Take a look here to see everything she’s come up with: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6627340

Thanks so much….as soon as we set a date for our Release, you’ll be the first to know! :)

Color of Friend lyrics!

Have you heard the latest version of Color of Friend? No? Well, now is your chance!

http://www.myspace.com/wdhan

ALSO, to enhance your listening pleasure, here are the lyrics to Color of Friend!

----------------------------
Let me tell you a story,
About a girl I know.
Yeah I’m a tell you,
About a fox I know.

Brunette and beautiful,
She’s my muse.
Wants to be my friend,
It was all a ruse.
Yeahhh, no, no, no.

I’m just the color of friend, yeah.
Way down in my soul.
I’m turnin’ blue, blue, blue and that’s the way it goes.

Here comes the weekend,
No place to go.
My baby left me,
No luck no more.

Brunette and beautiful,
She’s my muse.
Wants to be my friend,
It was all a ruse.
Yeahhh, no, no, no.

I’m just the color of friend, yeah.
Way down in my soul.
I’m turnin’ blue, blue, blue and that’s the way it goes.

I said, yeahhhhh,
She said, noooo,
I said, baby please don’t go.

I’m just the color of friend, yeah.
----------------------------

ENJOY!

You don't have to be rude to play rock music...

Seems that the agreement is that to be a rock musician these days, you have to be at least a little "dark" or at least have some form of emotional trauma evident in the music, the look, the attitude. The obvious extreme of this is the music that sounds like a metal workshop in full operation with a scream and a moan here and there for kicks, but it is still evident all over.

Each to their own I guess, but in my opinion it takes true artistry to create whole cloth and convey the emotion you're trying to.

Most would be in the agony of heartbreak and write about it, but what about the musician who is in a happy relationship or single and can write the song that makes everyone feel that emotion anyway?

I'm not saying our band or I am there yet (after all, we're not the judges of that, the person listening is) but that's sure where I want to be.
